Kate's approach as a psychologist is deeply embedded in humanistic philosophies with acknowledgement of the importance of the therapeutic relationship on the outcome of the therapy. Kate is skilled at enabling individuals to identify their problems and in applying a range of research based and established models of understanding of psychological difficulties to support individuals in working through their identified issues. Kate is a practitioner psychologist registered with the health & care professions council (HCPC). Kate is also a chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and full member of the Division of Counselling Psychology.
Kate has worked extensively in support and psychology services for over 20 years and in addition to managing several private clinics, Kate works for the NHS in a primary care clinical psychology team. Darlington Therapy was founded in 2012 and is now a well-established and professionally recognised resource for local GP surgeries, private insurance companies and individuals.
